Description:

The Centre for Sustainability and Economic Growth (CSEG) is a non-profit association which aims to stimulate the sustainable economic development at local level in various sectors like industry, education, tourism, energy, civil society, etc. CSEG participates in the development and improvement of the regulatory framework at local level, prepares analyses, studies and expert evaluations in the field of industrial policy, environmental and industrial issues, tax and social policy, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. It performs training activities in the field of ECO-products and production of ECO-products, energy efficiency, renewable energy sources (RES), environment protection, and sustainable mobility, and other fields of activities.

Among main priorities of CSEG are: training of municipal staff, teachers, mentors, SMEs managers and staff,  capacity building on different issues like ECO-production, energy efficiency, RES, protection of environment, etc.

Together with the training activities, CSEG participates also in different EU projects and initiatives, and carries out specific awareness raising campaign in the field of environment protection, ECO-products, rational use of energy, sustainable mobility, etc.

Name: Pazardzhik Municipality

Description:

Pazardzhik Municipality is located in the South-central part of Bulgaria. It occupies 640 km² which is 14.3 % of the Pazardzhik province territory. The population of 114,817 lives in 32 settlements which include one town (Pazardzhik) and 31 villages. Main economic activities include: trade, industry (wood-processing, cardboard and paper, textile and clothing, food, machinery, construction), agriculture (36% of municipal territory are arable lands), and tourism. The municipal administration has 247 employees. The municipality has 45 schools with more than 13,000 students in them.

As a local authority the Municipality of Pazardzhik develops and implements various policies – economic, social, environmental, etc. Environmental and climate change issues, energy efficiency, introduction of renewable energy sources, and stimulation of rational use of energy is among the key priorities of the Municipality. So far the Municipality of Pazardzhik has implemented a lot of environmental projects such as: introduction of energy efficient street lighting in some of the municipal settlements, renovation of public buildings in the town of Pazardzhik, carrying out a preliminary survey for the pilot establishment of a biomass logistic centre, and EU projects ECO-EDU (funded by the ERASMUS+ Programme), and FIESTA (funded under the IEE Programme). However, the behavioural change actions and training activities which aim to change citizens’ perception of climate change problems, civil society issues and development of sustainable energy initiatives are not yet sufficiently implemented.

Name: Energy Agency of Savinjska, Šaleška and Koroška Region

 

Description:

 The Energy Agency of Savinjska, Šaleška and Koroška region (KSSENA) was established in 2006 within the framework of the Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) programme. KSSENA is primarily encouraging promotion and implementation of measures in fields of energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, sustainable urban transport and GHG emission mitigation. It`s main tasks include energy modelling and analysis, energy monitoring and management, local strategy and policy development, investment facilitation and development, research of possible co-financing sources in addition to carrying out promotional, educational, training and awareness raising activities amongst key stakeholder groups and beneficiaries. KSSENA has also managed to secure impressive exposure to regional and transnational projects, financed either by purposely structured funds and programmes or by a form of public private partnership. The Agency has cooperated with many European partners since its inception in 2006 and has established a valuable network of experts within and beyond the European member states. The Agency’s vision is to continue the cooperation on ambitious work programs, supporting various regional and interregional initiatives as well as programmes on the European level.

Name: Municipal High School “Ljupco Santov”

 

Description:

Municipality High School “Ljupco Santov” is a non-profit secondary school situated in town of Kochani in the east part of Macedonia. It educates students in comprehensive knowledge and economic skills. The school has graduated students who became successful on state level and abroad. The school is a three store building with 18 classrooms, specialized classrooms for music, art, computer studies, accounting, multi media center, dance studio, gym, vast playground and a big library with a huge collection of books.

    The school is attended by 680 students in 2017/18 school year. The teaching staff (60 employees) teaches the students utmost care ,guide them with their assessment and other preparations and help them in times of need. Beside the regular syllabus, the school also organizes numerous extracurricular activities where students present their abilities and skills to the public. The school basketball team, football team and futsal team (indoor football) continually win competitions. The school choir and orchestra are recognized by their town and school anthem which is composed by music teachers. The students also take part in international art contests and win awards. The dance club gives students an opportunity to present their creativity through dance and music. The school also has an eco -committee composed of the school staff and students. Their goal is to increase the ecological awareness in the community and to promote the idea of healthy environment.

The school also has an excellent collaboration with the state and international organizations such as Peace Corps, USAID which organize activities to promote the idea of co-existence, mutual respect and understanding of multi-ethnic communities.


 

Name: Andragoški zavod Ljudska univerza Velenje

 

Description:

Ljudska univerza Velenje is public non-profit institution providing adult education. It takes an active part in regional community by improving the educational structure of the population by providing various educational programs and by motivating and informing the members of the community.

60 years of tradition, the provision of expert knowledge and quality and friendly attitude towards its participants without doubt contribute to the fact that each school year more than 4.000 participants take part in various educational programs.

LUV offers primary school for adults, vocational education, professional post-secondary education, language courses, ICT courses for adults and teenagers, national vocational qualifications, integrational courses, various workshops, etc. LUV actively participates and leads several national and international projects.

Within LUV also operates Centre for Intergeneration learning that includes 2 full-time employed mentors and over 20 volunteers and Pattern City – an ecosystem for education, experimentation, prototyping and innovation. Newly opened Center for Intercultural Dialogue Velenje, offers counselling for migrants, newcomers and persons with international protection.

LUV is actively involved in various local, regional and national initiatives and actions (Life-long learning week, educational festivals and other events). LUV has years of experience in participating and coordinating European projects and is currently involved in 12 Erasmus+ projects.

Name: MAGA – Macedonian Geothermal Association

 

Description:

MAGA – Macedonian Geothermal Association (founded 1989) is an NGO, non-profit organization, dealing with promotion and development of geothermal energy and other RESs in Macedonia and internationally. MAGA is member of IGA – International Geothermal Association, ERB-IGA – European Branch Forum of IGA, EGEC-European Geothermal Energy Council and ZEMAK – Macedonian Energy Association. The main activity and interest of the organization is the promotion of geothermal and other RESs through the organization of educational and dissemination activities, participation in scientific, research and applicative projects, preparation of studies and consulting in the field of RES exploitation and exploration. MAGA has participated and coordinated in a list of national and international projects.

From the foundation till today MAGA’s main activity is organization and realization of training, educational, life-long learning courses, as well as awareness raising and dissemination of gained knowledge on geothermal energy, biomass, solar energy and other RESs, rational use of energy, always connected with the expected environmental benefits. During its existence of almost 30 years a considerable expertise (persons and works) and rich library has been created (books, booklets, brochures, proceedings, atlases, projects’ related documentation, video materials, presentations, etc.) tightly related to the topic of interest – Awareness raising and capacity building in climate change mitigation practices through RUE and RES use. MAGA has participated in a large number of projects. 


 

Name: High School of Economics and Management – Pazardzhik

 

Description:

High School of Economics and Management was established in town of Pazardzhik in 1950. Pazardzhik is situated between the two largest cities in Bulgaria: Sofia, our capital, is 126 km away and Plovdiv, the second city in the country, is only 36 km away. The school has established itself as an authoritative and preferred by young people in vocational education in our region. There are 6 vocational specialties such as Operative Accounting, Economics and Management, Court Administration, Economic Informatics, Small and Medium Business, Customs and Tax Administration. The school has 60 qualified teachers; 922 students at the age of 13 up to 19. There are 17 classrooms, apart from 4 Computer Labs, Multi-Purpose Hall and a Canteen. The main objective of the school is to create conditions for the preparation of high-average-cost staff in the modern competitive market economy. Mission of our teachers is to prepare economically competent specialists, competitive specialists, competitive not only in Bulgaria, but also in terms of the united Europe. Our students enter the school after sitting for an entrance exam in Maths and Bulgarian Language. Half of them are not from the town but commute from the nearby villages and towns in order to acquire better and specialized education in the school. Many students take leading positions in various contests and Olympiads in Bulgaria.

About 96% of the students finishing our school continue their education in different universities in Bulgaria and abroad. For the school this is a great achievement because many of these students come from economically disadvantage families who experience difficulties in raising their children in economical crisis we experience in Bulgaria. In many of the families, one of the parents works abroad to support it financially. School and good-quality education is the only chance these children have to succeed in life to find a better realization at work in the future. They are interested in participating in different events and projects, so this project will give them the opportunity to get to know their mates from different countries, cultures and languages.

Description:

School Centre Velenje is one of the largest Vocational Education and Training (VET) centres in Slovenia with long tradition and with 2474 students on initial and continuous secondary as well as on higher level of education, serving by 205 teachers, trainers and other staff. It consists of School of Machinery, Geotechnics and Environment, School of Electrical Engineering and Computing, School for Service Activities, Gymnasium, Higher Professional School and Inter-company Training Centre. In school year 2018/2019 educational work is carried out in 26 secondary and upper-secondary educational programs and in 6 higher professional educational programs.

The Communal Public Enterprise “Vodovod” Kochani was established with a decision of the Municipal Council of Kocani dated 02.02.1968.

CPE ,,Vodovod,, is performing it’s activities with 240 workers with regular working status and 50 temporary engaged workers which number varies depending the needs of the company.

CPE “Vodovod” Kochani in its scope of work performs the following services : drinking water supply and waste water drainage, communal services- waste collection and disposal, exploitation and distribution of geothermal water, city markets and fairs, arranging of public traffic surfaces, parks and greenery, maintenance of Orthodox city cemetery and the city chapel, management of the city swimming pool and tennis courts, delegated responsibility for charging the parking service, construction of hydro-construction facilities for water supply and drainage of waste water.
